Choosing covers and hardware

Choose covers by the component being replaced as well as the finish. Chrome and custom covers have different supplied seals and hardware, and the black Joker Machine clutch face changes whether the stock kick-starter pedal can be retained.

Points-cover hardware and seal

Joker Machine points cover 73-1069 includes a built-in rubber O-ring and gold-coloured mounting hardware. For chrome points cover 13-0000, separate two-screw set 73-0901 explicitly names that cover in its application. Check what needs renewing rather than assuming the two cover packages have identical contents.

Clutch face and screw set

Chrome clutch face 73-0075 replaces 11348-392-000. Its matching face-cover screw set 49-0783 contains three screws replacing 93700-06016-0B. Use the face-cover reference to distinguish this small screw set from hardware for the main clutch cover.

Cover questions

Can I retain the kick-starter pedal with the black Joker Machine clutch face?

Black clutch face 12-0074 is not designed to retain the stock pedal. Its description calls for a kick-starter shaft cover and names 73-1066 in chrome or 12-0075 in black. This functional change matters when choosing between custom cover styles.

Do I need a separate gasket with the chrome starter cover?

Starter cover 73-0076 includes the gasket replacing 31282-300-020. Check the contents of that chosen cover before adding another gasket for the same repair.

Is the oil-filter cover supplied as a complete filter assembly?

Cover 15-3028 replaces 15411-300-010 and is sold individually. Its description lists the filter element, centre bolt, spring, washer and O-ring as sold separately. Confirm the order contents and the parts being retained before planning a complete assembly replacement.
