Honda CB Valvetrain Parts for Cylinder-Head Service

The valvetrain controls when the intake and exhaust valves open and close, allowing the engine to fill, seal and expel exhaust gases correctly. Worn valves, weak springs, hardened valve stem seals or incorrect valve clearance can contribute to poor sealing, engine noise, oil consumption and reduced performance. Proper inspection is important because similar symptoms can also result from cylinder, piston-ring or carburetion problems.

This collection includes intake and exhaust valves, valve shims, valve stem seals, springs, spring seats, retainers and related service parts. Shims are used on compatible DOHC engines and must be selected according to measured valve clearance. Many SOHC Honda CB engines use screw-and-locknut valve adjusters instead. Valve faces, seats, guides and spring condition should be inspected during cylinder-head work rather than assuming that replacing the valves alone will complete the repair.
