Use 335mm eye-to-clevis when you want the stated stock length and a black end cap. Match the fork seal by size, not by a guessed year. Order the 30mm nut and the stem washer as two pieces.

Three shock lengths, two measuring points

The black set is 335mm eye-to-clevis with a black end cap and 4-position preload. Chrome stock-type shocks are 321mm center-of-eye to clevis, no upper shroud, 5-position preload. The shrouded set is 290mm eye-to-clevis and shorter than stock. Do not treat 321mm as a simple drop from 335mm.

Nut, washer, and the bolt set

The chrome nut is a 30mm hex, sold each, under 90304-415-000, and it names the 1975-76 CB500T. The chrome washer is sold each under 90503-283-000 and also names that twin. The bolt set is two bolts under 92101-10040-0A plus two washers under 94102-10000. Those washers are not the stem washer.

Length, seal, or stem hardware?

How do I tell a 335mm shock from the shorter sets?

Measure eye-to-clevis. The black set is 335mm (13 3/16 in.) with a black end cap and 4-position preload. The shrouded set is 290mm eye-to-clevis and is called shorter than stock. A chrome stock-type set is 321mm center-of-eye to clevis, which is a different measurement.

What size is the fork seal?

The set is 35 x 48 x 10.5 / 11mm and made in Japan. The title covers CB750, CB650, CB550, and CB500. Measure the old seal to that size. Do not assume a 1975 CB500T year the seal text does not state.

Is the stem nut the same piece as the washer?

No. The nut is a chrome 30mm hex, sold each, replacing 90304-415-000, and it names the 1975-76 CB500T. The washer replaces 90503-283-000, is also sold each, and names that same twin. Order both if both are worn.
