Keep main and sub-harnesses distinct

The 1981–82 main loom is distinct from the listed 1980 harness. The ignition-coil sub-harness A is a separate connection to the coils and is not included with the main harness. Horn sub-harness B serves the 1981–82 Custom horn connection; it is not a complete loom.

Route and test before returning to service

Use the correct wiring diagram, routing and clips, keeping the loom away from heat, sharp edges and moving parts. Check steering movement without pulling wires. Repair the cause of a short or overheated connector before applying power, then verify the affected circuits and fuse protection.
