Honda CB Pistons and Rings for Top-End Rebuilding

Pistons and piston rings help seal combustion pressure, control oil on the cylinder walls and transfer heat from the piston into the cylinder. Worn rings, damaged pistons or excessive cylinder wear can contribute to low compression, blow-by, oil consumption and exhaust smoke, but proper inspection and measurement are required before choosing replacement parts.

This collection includes standard-size and oversize piston rings, piston kits, piston pins, retaining clips, cylinder dowels and piston-service tools for vintage Honda CB motorcycles. Complete top-end work may also require fresh engine gaskets and oil seals and inspection of related Honda CB valvetrain parts.

Standard and oversize components must match the finished cylinder bore—not simply the motorcycle’s model year. Cylinder condition, bore diameter, piston-to-cylinder clearance and piston-ring end gap should be checked during assembly.
