Identify what is fitted before choosing rebuild or replacement

A rebuild kit renews specified internal parts, while a complete cylinder has its own dimensions and design. Reservoir diaphragms, caps and external boots are separate items whose location and application should also be checked.

Compare replacement cylinder specifications explicitly

A similar-looking cylinder can carry a different listed piston size or switch arrangement. The complete assembly descriptions provide those details individually. Compare them with the brake system fitted to your motorcycle and have suitability assessed before choosing an assembly on appearance alone.

Keep a reservoir repair separate from a hose-junction part

The diaphragm is a reservoir component, while the rubber boot description places it where the hose joins the cylinder. Identify the actual part being replaced. Use the product reference and fitted assembly together, then refer to the service manual for required hydraulic work.

Questions that help you choose

Do the complete replacement cylinders have identical specifications?

No. The category includes assemblies with different stated piston sizes, including 14mm and 5/8-inch options. Read the individual cylinder and switch descriptions, then compare them with the brake arrangement fitted to the motorcycle before choosing.

When should the reservoir diaphragm be replaced?

Replace the diaphragm if it is torn, hardened, swollen or unable to seat correctly. Inspect the cap and reservoir sealing surface too. Match the diaphragm to the fitted cylinder; an internal piston rebuild kit and an external reservoir sealing repair address different parts.

Can the hose-junction boot seal the reservoir cap?

No. The boot listing describes the point where the brake hose joins the cylinder. Reservoir diaphragms and cap-related parts have separate listings. Match the actual position and product description before adding the part to your order.

Not sure which part you need?
