Check the parts around the working gauge

An instrument refresh does not always call for a complete replacement gauge. The early chrome clamps, separate clamp hardware and meter rubbers have specific descriptions and quantities to review. Compare each with the worn or missing component so the order supports the instrument arrangement already on the bike.

Keep face restoration separate from custom instruments

The early MPH decal set requires original plastic faces and gauge disassembly. The KM/H plate set is a different product and excludes jewels. Complete custom gauges have stated drive and mounting requirements, so a similar vintage appearance should not be used as proof of a stock mounting replacement.

Tach & Speedo: buying questions

Can a working gauge be refreshed without replacing it?

The category has separately listed clamps, meter rubbers, internal seals, reset knobs and face products. Identify the component needing renewal and compare its application with the fitted gauge before deciding whether a complete instrument replacement is necessary.

Are mounting rubbers and internal seals the same part?

No. The meter rubber is listed for the early gauge support arrangement, while the internal seal specifies stock-type Honda CB750 ND-brand gauges. Check the location needing attention and the fitted instrument type before selecting either rubber item.

What separates an early face repair from a custom gauge choice?

The early face listings are restoration components requiring instrument disassembly and specific face checks. Custom complete gauges instead have their own dimensions, drive specifications and mounting requirements. Choose by the actual task rather than by a shared vintage appearance.
