Two sides of the carburetors, two sets

The CB900F carburetors have rubber connections on both sides. The engine-side holders and airbox-side boots are separately shaped, position-specific sets. Inspect the joint that is leaking or hardened before choosing either package.

Holder clamp requirements

For the engine-side holder set, the source specifies four 46–49mm clamps and four 50–52mm clamps when replacements are needed. Check the existing bands before deciding what to renew. Those sizes belong to the holder joints, not automatically to the airbox boots.

Airbox connections have their own bands

The airbox boot set specifies 60–65mm band clamps when new clamps are required. It contains four distinct boots, one for each listed reference. Match the pieces to the fitted airbox arrangement; a pod-filter conversion may no longer use these original-style connections.

Buying questions

Could hardened engine-side holders affect idle or synchronization?

A cracked or poorly seated holder can admit air at the engine-side joint. Inspect the rubber and clamp seating before trying to compensate with carburetor settings. The airbox boots are separate parts and should also be checked for secure seating.

Can I use the airbox-boot clamps on the engine-side holders?

The listed sizes differ: the holders call for four 46–49mm and four 50–52mm clamps, while the airbox boots call for 60–65mm bands. Inspect the fitted joints and use the specified size rather than forcing a larger clamp to suit.

Will these boots restore an intake that has been converted to pods?

Only if the matching airbox and original-style carburetor arrangement are also present. Confirm the installed components and keep the four position-specific boots identified. A boot set alone does not recreate missing or altered airbox parts.
