Identify the carburetors and the repair objective before buying parts for your 1981 CB900C Custom. A sealing kit renews specified leak-related pieces for one carburetor. The pilot and main-jet packages offer specific formats and sizes, rather than a guaranteed tune for an altered engine.

This deluxe aftermarket carburetor rebuild kit provides a high-content selection of sealing, fuel-control, jetting, and mixture-adjustment components for servicing one original carburetor on the...
Use the 1981 settings and diagnose fuel supply before rejetting
The original CB900C carburetors have separate primary and secondary main-jet circuits as well as low-speed metering. A sealing kit, a pilot-jet set and a main-jet assortment do different jobs. Read the carburetor identification and establish the fault before deciding which parts to replace.
Keep the 1981 pilot setting distinct from the base year
The sealing kit services one carburetor with a bowl gasket, float needle and O-rings. If pilot-screw service is required, Honda’s 1981 supplement changes the initial opening and then calls for the specified idle-drop procedure. An initial setting is not a universal final adjustment for every rebuilt or modified bank.
Keep primary, secondary and pilot jets separate
The main-jet assortment supplies #105, #110, #115 and #120, four of each. The #35 press-in pilot set serves a different circuit. Match the exact jet design and existing carburetor before choosing a size, and do not treat a larger number as an automatic improvement for a modified exhaust or filter.
Buying questions
Can I choose a main jet only by matching its number?
No. Confirm the correct main-jet circuit, thread, body and carburetor application. Honda distinguishes primary and secondary mains; a pilot jet or another jet family with a similar number is not interchangeable.
Should press-in pilot jets be removed during every rebuild?
Do not make removal automatic. Confirm the actual jet design, clean and assess the low-speed passages, and have a carburetor specialist determine whether replacement is needed and how that body can be serviced without damage. A product listing is not a removal procedure.
Does a larger main jet fix an intake leak or overflowing bowl?
No. Restore intake sealing and correct float-valve faults first. Jet changes alter metering and cannot repair those defects; final selection must suit the actual carburetors, intake, exhaust and measured running condition.
