The Athena top-end set includes six cylinder-head nut covers, eight valve stem seals and its named top-end gaskets and packings. The overhaul set adds cover gaskets but explicitly excludes head nut covers and engine oil seals. Choose by that difference rather than by the word overhaul.

Separate cover leaks from shaft seals

The oil-seal kit includes a shift-shaft seal marked 14 × 28 × 7 and reference 91206-286-005 / 013 / 003. Compare the repair location before adding the separately listed shift-shaft seal, which may duplicate a piece already in the kit.

Common questions

Which gasket set includes cylinder-head nut covers?

The Athena top-end set lists six cylinder-head nut covers. The overhaul set explicitly excludes them. Check this difference when deciding which set suits the top-end work, rather than assuming the broader set includes every smaller set’s contents.

Why does the oil seal kit contain two countershaft seals?

The kit covers more than one application: its 25 × 62 × 8 seal is listed for CB750K 1971–76, while the second countershaft seal is for 1977–78 applications. Both are supplied, but they are alternatives for that location.

Should I add a separate shift-shaft seal to the oil-seal kit?

Check whether you need another one. The oil-seal kit already includes a shift-shaft seal marked 14 × 28 × 7. The separate shift-shaft product is useful for a single-location repair, but may duplicate the kit’s contents.
