The 1980 main loom is not the listed 1981–82 harness. The ignition-coil sub-harness A is a separate connection to the coils and is not included with the main harness. The air-sensor item supplies only a short lead and rubber cover.
Use the correct wiring diagram, routing and clips, keeping the loom away from heat, sharp edges and moving parts. Check steering movement without pulling wires. Repair the cause of a short or overheated connector before applying power, then verify the affected circuits and fuse protection.
Inspect the fault’s extent first. A separately listed sub-harness may suit an isolated damaged branch, while damage spreading through the main loom may justify a larger repair. Confirm the mating connectors and circuit functions.
The listings specify different applications and Honda references. Match the correct year and diagram rather than assuming similar plugs establish interchangeability or splicing an unverified loom to fit.
Identify excessive resistance, a loose terminal, a short or an incorrect connected component before fitting new wiring. Replacing only the damaged plastic can leave the cause of overheating in place.
