1979 Honda CB650 · Master Cylinders & Repair Parts Buying guide
An internal rebuild, a damaged reservoir and a complete master-cylinder replacement call for different parts. Identify the unit actually fitted and the condition of its components before choosing a repair scope.

The rebuild-kit listing gives reference 45530-442-315 but does not itemize its contents. Confirm the supplied internal parts against the repair being planned before ordering additional seals or hardware.
The black assembly has an integrated brake-light switch with two small spade connectors. Compare those connections with the motorcycle wiring, and have its hydraulic suitability, hose connection and lever clearance checked before substitution.
The four-screw reservoir kit instructs you to reuse the diaphragm plate from the old master cylinder. Resolve a missing or unusable plate before relying on this package to complete the reservoir repair.
The separate diaphragm replaces 45520-422-026, 45520-422-006 or 45520-422-016. Compare it with the fitted reservoir and inspect the retained parts before choosing that narrower repair.
Compatibility is not established by their shared motorcycle application. The black assembly is explicitly not identical to the original type; obtain repair parts specified for that actual master cylinder.
