The 1981 CB900F Supersport switch choices serve different circuits: oil-pressure indication and rear brake-light operation. Identify the faulty component before ordering, then compare its reference and connections, including the separate spring that attaches to the rear stop-light switch.

Ensure your brake light activates properly with this Rear Stop Light Switch, designed as a direct replacement for several original Honda rear brake switches....
Treat an oil-pressure warning as a pressure concern first
The oil-pressure switch operates a warning lamp; it cannot restore low oil pressure. Stop the engine if the warning stays on while running and verify the cause before riding. The rear brake-light switch and its spring belong to a separate pedal-operated circuit.
Switch 37240-P13-013 is an on/off warning-light switch, not a variable sender for a pressure gauge. Inspect the circuit and verify actual oil pressure when necessary. A low oil level, lubrication fault or internal wear will not be cured by replacing the switch.
Inspect the rear pedal linkage and electrical switch
The rear brake-light switch is actuated through spring 35357-KE4-730. That spring is separate from the pedal return spring. Check that the pedal returns and the switch changes state correctly; do not use switch adjustment to change brake-pedal free play.
Buying questions
Will a new oil-pressure switch cure low engine oil pressure?
No. It can replace a leaking or electrically faulty switch, but cannot repair a lubrication problem. If the warning stays on with the engine running, stop the engine and verify the cause before riding.
What should I check if the rear brake light stays on?
Check pedal return, the switch spring and switch adjustment, then test the switch and wiring. A stretched or misrouted spring or a binding pedal can keep the switch operated. Correct the cause and verify the lamp turns off when the pedal is released.
Will the rear stop switch work with aftermarket rearsets?
Compare the rearset’s switch mount, spring travel and electrical connections with the replacement. The stock CB900F application does not verify a changed linkage. The brake light must operate correctly without restricting pedal movement.
