The early stock-design set is modeled after the 1969–71 appearance, with a black center between chrome components. The later design uses a chrome center and lists additional fitments. Shared applications do not make their appearance identical, so compare the design details before ordering.
The catalog also includes short custom shock sets. Do not treat a different length as a cosmetic change alone. Compare the stated mounts and dimensions with your bike, and have clearance and suspension requirements assessed before selecting a length that differs from the fitted arrangement.
The early stock-design listing gives 336mm from the center of the eye to the clevis. Compare your existing shocks using that same reference, then read the mounting and application details before choosing the replacement set.
The early-style set has five preload positions; the all-black 335 mm set has four and includes bushings, inserts, washers and a preload wrench. Compare adjustment and package contents as well as finish.
Check the contents of the particular set. Some shock descriptions list supplied mounting pieces, while joint rubbers are also offered separately. Do not infer that every set includes the same bushings, inserts, washers or other hardware.
