1982 Honda CB900F — Leviers de frein et d’embrayage, câbles d’embrayage
For the 1982 CB900F hand controls, match the lever or cable to the fitted assembly before choosing its finish. Black and chrome brake levers, a black clutch lever and a separate clutch cable are available, with different brake and clutch pivot hardware. Altered controls need their own compatibility check.

A stiff clutch pull, loose lever and unsuitable cable length are different problems. Inspect the perch, pivot and cable before choosing replacements. Brake levers must match the fitted master cylinder even when the black and chrome options share references.
Clutch pivot hardware references 90113-422-000 and 94002-06000-0S; brake hardware references 90114-MA5-671 and 94050-06000. Check the lever bore and perch as well as the bolt. Worn mating parts can remain loose with new hardware, while excessive tightening can bind the lever.
Handlebar changes can change the cable requirement
The listed cable replaces 22870-425-010 and 22870-ME1-670, but its description gives no length for a custom-bar comparison. Check the complete route, required reach and end fittings. After fitting, verify the specified free play remains correct with the steering moved fully both ways.
Buying questions
Will a new cable cure a heavy clutch lever?
Inspect the cable for fraying, corrosion or tight bends, then check the lever pivot and clutch release mechanism. A dragging cable needs a cable repair; a worn pivot or internal release fault needs its own attention. Set the specified free play after the cause is corrected.
What should I replace when a lever rocks on its pivot?
Inspect the pivot bolt, lever bore and perch together. Choose brake or clutch hardware by the correct reference and shoulder dimensions. A new bolt will not repair an enlarged lever bore, and overtightening must not restrict lever return.
Will the listed clutch cable suit taller handlebars?
The stock application alone does not establish the extra reach. Compare the route, ends and required length before ordering; the listing supplies no length. A suitable installation must retain free play and avoid pulling tight at either steering lock.
