Separate cover supports from emblem fasteners

The individual A-type damper supports the sidecover at its specified contact. The two-piece 3 mm emblem fixing pack contains push-on retainers, so identify the emblem studs separately from the panel supports.

Count dampers on your Custom

A-type dampers are sold individually. Identify the rubber type at each mounting point and count the pieces being replaced on your motorcycle. Compare the originals carefully if the covers have been changed, keeping the support shape and reference together rather than choosing by appearance alone.

Keep emblem hardware separate

The emblem retainers push onto the matching 3 mm studs; they are not conventional threaded nuts. Inspect the studs and the sidecover tabs before replacing fastening pieces. The pack contains two retainers, but the complete-bike quantity depends on the fitted emblems.

Will a fresh damper repair a broken sidecover tab?

No. Inspect the cover tabs and frame mounts first. The A-type rubber, reference 17247-303-000, cushions its intended contact; it cannot restore a cracked panel or missing mounting feature.

Do the emblem fixing nuts screw onto threaded studs?

These are 3 mm push-on retainers. Match the stud diameter and fastening style on the fitted emblem; do not select or fit them as ordinary threaded nuts. Reproduction emblems may need their own fasteners.

Should I replace every rubber with the A type?

Only replace a mounting point with the verified matching type. Compare the original rubber and reference 17247-303-000; different damper shapes should not be treated as interchangeable because they appear in the same category.
