1970 Honda CB750K · Carb Rebuild & Jetting Buying guide

Compare early CB750 carb kit contents and jet sizes

The standard kit supplies a #110 main jet, while the early deluxe kit supplies #120 and #140. Both serve one carburetor. Separate jet packs add further choices that require checking against the actual setup.

An overlapping year needs a closer comparison

Honda documented a changed carburetor linkage and air cleaner for the K1 version. That is a reason to identify the assembly actually fitted, not to assign every motorcycle called “1970” to one carburetor version. Compare the carburetor identification, linkage and existing metering parts with the kit contents before selecting either kit.

Separate repair parts from tuning choices

A bowl gasket or needle-and-seat replacement is a different selection from changing jet sizes. The performance kit offers four sizes, with four jets of each, rather than one stated setting. Use the correct service information or qualified tuning help when deciding what suits a modified intake or exhaust.

Questions before ordering

What is different about the two rebuild kits?

The standard 1970–75 kit lists a #110 main jet and #40 pilot jet. The deluxe 1969–71 kit lists #120 and #140 main jets and a #40 slow jet. Read their full contents and compare your carburetors before choosing.

What details help identify the correct carburetor kit?

Record the carburetor markings, linkage layout, existing jet types and sizes, and any intake or exhaust changes. Compare the removed gaskets and metering parts with the proposed kit. The model year and a supplied main-jet number alone do not establish that every component is correct for the fitted carburetors.

Does the sixteen-jet pack provide one ready-to-use setting?

It provides four jets of each of four sizes, not a prescribed setting for the bike. Choose the size using the requirements of the fitted carburetors and intake/exhaust arrangement, rather than installing the largest supplied jets by default.
