Compare those measurements with the bar and controls already fitted, rather than relying on one overall width or a similar shape in the photograph.

Check what comes with each clamp

The stock hardware set contains four chrome-plated bolts and four washers. The black clamps refer to separate hardware, while the custom chrome top clamp includes Allen socket bolts and has no built-in indicator lamps. Review those differences before building an order around the mounting arrangement you want.

What should I check when returning a modified cockpit to early-style bars?

Compare the fitted switch wiring route, clamp arrangement and cable reach with the drilled early-pattern bar. Replacing the bar alone does not establish compatibility with controls added during an earlier modification.

Are the early grips open at the ends?
