1980 Honda CB650C Custom · Brake-Light Switches Buying guide

Test each brake-light input separately

The front switch has a specific 1980 Custom application, while the rear switch responds to the brake pedal. Compare the relevant mounting and wiring before replacement rather than assuming a single switch serves both controls.

Distinguish the two brake-light inputs

The front switch replaces reference 35340-422-013 for the listed 1980 CB650C assembly. The rear switch is a different component at the pedal-operated circuit. Confirm the fitted controls and connectors, especially where an aftermarket master cylinder has been installed.

Check the rear operating arrangement

The rear stop-light switch belongs to the pedal-operated circuit and has its own mounting and wiring. Compare the installed switch with the replacement before ordering, then follow the service procedure for adjustment and a complete brake-light function check.

Brake-light switch questions

Will the front switch fit any replacement master cylinder?

Do not assume it will. Its listing covers the original-type 1980 application; a universal or aftermarket master cylinder may require its own switch and connector arrangement.

Is the rear switch the same as the front switch?

No. They are separate products with different mounting and operating arrangements. Test each brake-light input and order the component for the affected control.

Should I replace a switch before testing the circuit?

Test the relevant input and wiring first using the correct service information. A failed brake-light check can involve more than the switch, so identify the fault before selecting a replacement.
