1980 Honda CB650C Custom · Fork Seal Tool Buying guide
The split carbon-steel driver is intended for fork seal installation. Confirm the fitted fork size, assemble the replacement parts separately and use the correct service procedure for the actual fork assembly.
The driver is specified for 35 or 36 mm forks, with the CB650C listed under its 35 mm applications. That measurement is the tool selection point. Verify the installed forks if the motorcycle has replacement sliders, tubes or a complete front-end conversion.
A driver is workshop equipment used during seal installation. Inspect and select the required oil seals, dust seals and retainers independently. Follow the relevant service manual for disassembly, oil specifications, assembly sequence and checks after the fork work.
The 35/36 mm tool selection refers to the compatible fork size; the listed CB650 application is 35 mm. The oil seal’s full 35 × 48 × 10.5/11 mm specification describes separate dimensions. Match the driver to the fitted fork and the seal to its complete specification.
The driver is intended to distribute installation force evenly around the seal, reducing the chance of cocking or damaging it. Use the fork’s prescribed installation method and inspect the seat first; a correctly sized driver cannot make a damaged housing serviceable.
This product is the reusable seal-installation tool. Select oil seals and any other service components separately, using the dimensions and requirements of the forks being rebuilt rather than the tool’s category name.
