1980 Honda CB650 · Brake & Clutch Service Buying guide
A rear-shoe set is not a front-pad set, and a clutch friction plate is not a complete stack. Use component identity and package contents to make the repair order clear.

The rear package contains two shoes. The front-caliper piston is 42.8mm in diameter and 36.5mm long, with a separate seal and boot. Compare the actual brake assembly before ordering and have its condition assessed using the correct service procedure.
The CB650 listing calls for seven number-one friction plates, one number-two friction plate and seven steel plates. The spring kit supplies six springs separately. Those figures describe different components, so keep each type and quantity as its own line in the order.
No. The piston, sealing ring and dust boot are separate products. Inspect the caliper first and identify which parts are required before treating a piston purchase as the whole repair.
Identify the installed caliper, then compare pad profile and dimensions with its verified specification. The original CB650 application alone cannot establish the correct pads for a swapped brake assembly.
Two types: seven number-one plates and one number-two plate. Steel plates and the spring kit are separate choices, so check the full stack before placing the order.
