1971 Honda CB750K · Oil service & lubrication Buying guide
Match lubrication parts to the installed assembly
The paper filter, its housing components and a pump rebuild package perform different jobs. Identify the assembly being serviced and compare the written contents before adding seals, hoses or instruments.
The paper element listing excludes the housing O-rings, spring and washers. A filter change is therefore a useful time to check which separate pieces are present and suitable for reuse. If a different filter arrangement is fitted, select around that assembly rather than assuming stock-type service parts apply.
Treat pump work as a separate purchase
The eleven-piece pump kit lists sealing pieces and springs; its contents are not a complete replacement oil pump. Compare the written list with the pump inspection and required repair. Pressure gauges and replacement oil hoses are separate choices and do not establish the condition of the pump.
Common questions
Are filter housing O-rings included with the paper element?
No. The paper filter description says the O-rings, spring and washers are available separately. The linked O-ring listing is for the factory-type filter housing. Check the housing fitted to your motorcycle before combining these items.
How do I choose between oil hoses A and B?
Use the separate Honda references and compare each hose’s position and connections. These are engine-oil-system hoses; the A and B designations identify different parts rather than a choice of interchangeable fuel hose.
What condition needs checking before buying the oil-pump kit?
Establish whether the existing pump can be serviced with the listed seals, spring parts and body gasket. The eleven-piece kit does not replace the pump body or assess its condition; base the repair order on inspection.
