Resolve the tach-cable length before ordering

The tachometer-cable source gives inconsistent length information beside its replacement references. Obtain a confirmed overall length for the supplied cable and compare the connections and route on your bike before ordering; the reference number alone does not settle the length.

Blocking off the tach drive

The 73-0884 tach drive plug includes an O-ring and specifies a screw-held cable connection approximately 15 mm in diameter with a 10.5 mm groove. The black Joker Machine 73-1075 plug has a machined O-ring groove and lists the 1975–76 CB750F; its description does not explicitly say an O-ring is included.

Cable questions

Does the tach-drive block-off require removing the valve cover?

Both offered tach-drive plugs are described as fitting at the external drive opening without removing the valve cover or tach-drive gear assembly. The plug with O-ring is specified for a screw-retained connection about 15 mm in diameter with a 10.5 mm retaining groove; check a changed drive before choosing it.

Do both tach-drive plugs expressly include an O-ring?

Only the plug titled “with O-ring” explicitly lists the seal as included. The Joker Machine product describes a machined O-ring groove but does not state that an O-ring is supplied. Confirm that package detail before ordering.
