Choose service parts for the installed oil system

Identify the fitted filter system before choosing a paper element or housing hardware. The selected drain plug and filter washers are separate service items, so match each to the component you are repairing.

Check the fitting method before a spin-on conversion

The chrome 15-1006 conversion uses a threaded bung: fit the bung first, then screw the filter onto it. Use the complete conversion instructions when planning installation.

Match a repaired drain opening

The magnetic plug is specified as M12 × 1.5. Verify the finished thread after any repair rather than assuming the motorcycle application proves the dimensions of a modified opening.

Oil-Service Parts questions

Does the paper element include new housing hardware?

No. The paper element does not include replacement O-rings, a spring or washers. Inspect the existing housing parts and order any needed replacements separately.

Can I use the filter washers as drain-plug washers?

The 15414-300-000 washers are specified for the original-type paper-filter assembly, not as drain-plug crush washers. Identify the drain's sealing washer separately instead of using this pack for a different location.

Which filter should I choose after a previous conversion?

Identify the exact conversion first. The chrome 15-1006 product replaces the original housing, bolt and paper element; an engine fitted with it needs service parts for that system. Do not assume an unidentified spin-on conversion uses the same replacement parts.
