Identify the circuit being repaired before choosing a switch for the 1980 CB650. The front brake control, rear brake pedal and oil-pressure warning use separate components. Compare the fitted mounting and connection, especially when the master cylinder or wiring has been changed.

Choose a switch after identifying the affected circuit
A matching motorcycle application does not diagnose a warning or lighting fault. Establish the affected component, then compare its physical mount and electrical connection with the replacement before purchasing.
The front switch references 35340-422-013 and lists the 1980 CB650 application. An aftermarket master cylinder may use a different switch arrangement. Identify that control and compare the switch mount and terminals before buying an original-application replacement.
Diagnose an oil-pressure warning first
The oil-pressure switch references 37240-P13-013. Check both the warning circuit and the underlying oil-pressure condition with the correct service information before deciding the switch is at fault. A replacement part is not evidence that an unexplained warning has been resolved. If the oil-pressure warning stays on with the engine running, stop the engine and have actual oil pressure checked before riding.
Ordering questions
How does a replacement master cylinder affect the front switch choice?
It may change the switch mount and terminals. Match the switch to the installed control, not only the motorcycle year, before placing the order.
What should I compare on the rear switch?
Check the rear pedal-operated mounting arrangement and existing electrical connection against the replacement. The stated reference includes 35350-425-003 for the listed application.
Should an oil-pressure warning lead straight to a switch order?
First establish whether the switch or another condition causes the warning. Use the model’s service information to check the circuit and oil pressure before choosing the repair part.
