1970 Honda CB750K · Engine & Fork Tools Buying guide

Compare the tool interface with the component being serviced

A driver size, inside diameter and rotor thread describe different interfaces. Check the relevant part of the fitted assembly, then select the dedicated tool rather than treating every engine or fork listing as a general-purpose option.

Choose between the stated clutch tool formats

The standard tool describes a 24mm inside diameter and a 3/8-inch driver. The premium version gives 20mm and 24mm ends with a 1/2-inch drive extension bar. Compare the nut and your workshop equipment with those descriptions; the extra end is not evidence that every clutch nut needs a different size.

Keep cap size separate from fork tube diameter

The stock fork cap wrench is listed at 24mm, while the split fork seal driver lists 35/36mm applications. These sizes refer to different components. Review the fitted cap and fork separately, and remember that the oil filter wrench elsewhere in this category specifies aftermarket spin-on cartridge filters rather than every filter arrangement.

Engine & Fork Tools: buying questions

Which driver does the premium clutch tool use?

Its description identifies 20mm and 24mm ends used with a 1/2-inch drive extension bar. The standard 24mm tool instead lists a 3/8-inch driver, so compare both formats with the fitted nut and available workshop equipment.

Does a 35mm fork tube need the 35mm cap wrench?

Fork tube diameter and the cap wrench size refer to different components. The stock-cap wrench listing specifies 24mm. Check the actual cap on your forks rather than selecting a 35mm cap wrench from the tube diameter alone.

What is specified for the SOHC rotor puller?

The puller uses an M20 × 1.5 right-hand thread for the specified internal-thread CB750 SOHC rotor. Confirm the actual rotor and its thread before choosing the tool, and use the relevant service manual for removal.
