1981 Honda CB650C Custom · Fork Seal Installation Tool Buying guide
The carbon-steel driver uses a split construction and supports 35 or 36mm forks. Treat that range as a tool-sizing requirement and choose the consumable seals by their own dimensions and application.
The driver is designed for fork seal installation and is made from carbon steel with a split form. Compare the actual fork size before buying. The CB650C appears among its 35mm applications, but the frame model cannot identify substituted tubes or an entire replacement front end.
Select the correct oil seals, dust seals and any other required components independently. Use the appropriate fork procedure for removal, oil specification, installation and checks afterward. A correctly sized driver is useful equipment, but it does not provide the service parts or establish their dimensions.
The 35/36 mm tool selection refers to the compatible fork size; the listed CB650 application is 35 mm. The oil seal’s full 35 × 48 × 10.5/11 mm specification describes separate dimensions. Match the driver to the fitted fork and the seal to its complete specification.
The driver is intended to distribute installation force evenly around the seal, reducing the chance of cocking or damaging it. Use the fork’s prescribed installation method and inspect the seat first; a correctly sized driver cannot make a damaged housing serviceable.
Determine the required seal dimensions and any additional service components from the fitted fork assembly. A tool-size match does not replace the separate parts and procedure checks for that fork.
