1981 Honda CB650C Custom · Body Mounts & Controls Buying guide
The sidecover damper, front tank cushion and gear lever each serve a separate point on the motorcycle. Compare the existing mounts and control layout before deciding which pieces belong in a restoration order.

The B-type sidecover damper is sold individually. The CB650C application calls for three on each side, so six cover all listed positions. Inspect the actual panel pins and rubber mounts before deciding whether to renew one position, one side or both covers.
The chrome gear lever includes its rubber and has a different toe-clearance shape from the original lever. Compare that shape with your riding controls and engine case. A forward-control conversion is a separate project with its own linkage requirement, rather than a simple rubber replacement.
The featured cushion referencing 17611-KE8-000 is identified as genuine Honda. An aftermarket version also exists; establish the required shape and mounting first, then choose the version you prefer.
The specified quantity is three per side. Six covers both sides when replacing every listed B-type damper; each piece is ordered individually.
Compare the altered mounting points and the old parts directly. The standard CB650C application does not verify every replacement tank, sidecover or custom control arrangement.
