Piston measurements determine the starting point for a 1980 CB650 ring order. Once standard size has been confirmed, count the pistons being rebuilt and inspect the pins and clips separately. The ring, pin and clip products have different contents and purchase quantities.

Upgrade or restore your classic Honda motorcycle with this Genuine Honda Piston Pin — precision‑engineered and made in Japan. This authentic replacement fits and...
Count the piston jobs after confirming the required size
The ring set services one piston, while the retaining clips come two per pack. Genuine Honda pins are separate products, so do not mistake a set of rings for a complete piston assembly.
The rings replace reference 13011-426-004 in standard size. Confirm the engine’s condition and any earlier rebore before purchase. Four sets cover four pistons only when that standard-size specification is appropriate; package arithmetic does not determine fit.
Inspect the pin and retention pieces
The genuine Honda pin is sold individually: four pins replace all four. The separate pack contains two 15mm clips, enough for one compatible piston; four packs supply eight clips for all four pistons. Match the piston and pin-retaining arrangement before ordering, especially with aftermarket pistons. Rings, pins and clips are separate products.
Ordering questions
How many sets are needed for all four pistons?
Four standard ring sets, if standard size is correct. Each set services one piston, so a smaller repair should be counted according to the actual number being rebuilt.
Do the piston-pin clips need replacing if I keep the original pins?
Replace any piston-pin clips that have been removed, even if the pins are retained. Confirm the 15mm size and reference 94601-15000 for the piston assembly. The clips are supplied separately as a pair for one compatible piston.
Can I use these rings with oversize pistons?
Do not assume compatibility. These are standard-size rings; identify any oversize marking and measured bore requirement before selecting parts for a rebored engine.
