Check the tank and fittings before the final paint finish

The featured tank is supplied in primer grey. Its product guidance calls for test-fitting the tank, cap, petcock and front and rear mounts before final paint. The chrome cap includes a gasket, hinge pin and E-clip, while the latch is listed separately. Check the fittings you plan to reuse before committing to the finish.

Check the valve before selecting its service parts

The fuel petcock body O-ring specifically requires a stock OEM petcock rather than an aftermarket replacement. Another petcock gasket is listed separately. Identify the fitted valve and the sealing location before choosing, especially where a previous owner has replaced or altered the tank fittings.

Questions before ordering

What needs checking before buying the primer-grey tank?

The reproduction tank excludes the cap, petcock, emblems and other accessories. Compare the fittings you intend to reuse, their condition and the separate product applications so the tank purchase accounts for the rest of the project.

Does the chrome fuel cap include a latch assembly?

Its stated contents are the cap gasket, hinge pin and E-clip. The latch assembly has its own listing. Review both descriptions and the parts already fitted rather than assuming the cap purchase supplies every latch component.

Will the stock petcock body O-ring fit an aftermarket fuel valve?

The body O-ring listing is restricted to a stock OEM petcock and identifies Honda references 16997-273-006 and 16960-011-000. Confirm the fitted valve and its tank-side sealing groove before ordering. An aftermarket valve or a different sealing location needs its own parts check.
