Match the panel, then its mounting pieces

The three visible pieces have different stated applications: left cover 1975–76 F, right cover 1975–78 F and emblem 1975–77 F. All include the 1975 model. Check each replacement separately, then account for the rubbers and emblem retainers.

Finish the cover before fitting the trim

Both plastic cover descriptions call for thorough cleaning before painting to remove residual moulding oil. The left-cover listing also calls for a trial fit against the mounting pegs before finishing, and says the emblem, grommets, retainers and hardware are not included. Inspect those pieces while the old cover is off.

Use the correct rubber mixture

The 1975–78 F uses two Damper A rubbers, reference 17247-303-000, and one Damper B, reference 83551-300-000, per side. The six-piece set contains that mix for both covers. The individual A and B listings are sold one rubber at a time.

Side-cover assembly questions

Are the emblem fixing nuts ordinary threaded nuts?

No. The supplier describes them as 3mm push-on retainers that grip compatible emblem pins. Match the original retainer style and pin diameter, and count the required retainers rather than assuming one two-piece pack covers the whole bike.

Can six Damper A rubbers replace the complete side-cover set?

No. The listed 1975 F arrangement uses four Damper A rubbers and two Damper B rubbers in total. The six-piece set supplies both reference types; six of A alone would be the wrong mixture.

Does buying the left side cover also supply the badge and grommets?

No. The left-cover listing explicitly excludes the emblem, grommets, retainers and hardware. The cover and emblem are each sold individually, so inspect the reusable pieces and order the missing items separately.
