1975 Honda CB750F · Gaskets & mounting hardware Buying guide

Order sealing parts and hardware separately

Both headpipe-gasket products are sold individually, as are the flange clamps. The stud set contains eight studs and eight flange nuts. Set each quantity from the parts being replaced rather than treating one package as a complete exhaust-joint kit.

The gasket listings share a Honda reference

Both products name 18291-MM5-860; part 17-2812 also names 18291-254-000. The descriptions do not publish a material or dimensional comparison that establishes one gasket as an upgrade.

Keep package contents and installed quantities separate

The flange-clamp listing specifies four per bike and sells each separately. The stud set packages eight studs with eight flange nuts. Gaskets and flange clamps are separate products, so count the pieces required for the repair before ordering.

Exhaust hardware questions

What should be removed before a new headpipe gasket is fitted?

Remove the old crush gasket from the exhaust port. Use a new gasket whenever the joint is disturbed; do not leave the old gasket in place beneath the replacement.

What should be checked after the headpipes are reassembled?

Seat the headpipes squarely and tighten the flange hardware evenly to the Honda specification. Check for leakage after starting the engine and again after a heat cycle.

Not sure which part you need?

Send your model and year, plus photos of your existing part and any changes to the original setup.
