49mm Chrome Cap POD Air Filter for custom or restoration work on classic Honda CB motorcycles. Measure the outside diameter of the carburetor inlet...

1976 Honda CB500T · Air Filters, Vent Filters Buying guide

Measure the inlet, then decide how many

Do not order from the model name alone. Measure the outside diameter of the inlet. Order one pod per carburetor you are converting. Expect possible jetting changes.

Inlet diameter is the fitment

The description tells you to measure the outside diameter of the carburetor inlet before you order, because the pod is 49mm. A twin can have two inlets that both need measuring. If the mouth is not 49mm, this filter is the wrong diameter even though the CB500T is in the fitment list.

Jetting is part of the decision

The maker says pod filters may require jetting and tuning changes. This pod is not a stock airbox element. If you are keeping the airbox, do not buy this as a replacement panel. The slow jet sold for this twin is a separate #35 pilot, not included here.

Pod filter questions

How many pods does one bike take?

One pod per carburetor you convert. They are sold each. This twin has two carburetors, so converting both inlets takes two pods.

What size is it?

49mm. Measure the outside diameter of the carb inlet. Do not match it by the chrome cap appearance.

Will it need a jet change?

The description says pod filters may require jetting and tuning changes. It does not name a new jet size. The #35 slow jet is a separate part.
