The driver does one job

The 43 mm driver is an installation tool intended to seat the seal squarely without striking its sealing lip directly. It does not include oil seals or dust seals. Clean, undamaged sealing surfaces and the correct service procedure still matter.

Keep the two legs' adjustments consistent

The 2004 US/Canada owner's manual specifies front spring-preload and rebound-damping adjustment. Record the settings before service and keep both fork legs at matching settings when reassembled. Obtain oil type, fill quantity and level from service information for the exact fork. A 43 mm tube diameter alone does not supply those specifications.
