1971 Honda CB750K · Engine, Steering & Clutch Tools Buying guide

Check the working end before adding a special tool

Nut sockets, threaded pullers and fork tools connect in different ways. Compare the listed size and driver connection with the fitted assembly. A fork cap wrench size is separate from a fork-seal driver’s application.

Avoid treating fork dimensions as one measurement

A 24mm cap wrench refers to the cap engagement size, while the seal-driver listing names a 35/36mm application. Those are different tool measurements. Confirm the fitted fork and cap rather than assuming the driver size identifies the hex required for the cap wrench.

Check the filter conversion before selecting its wrench

The related tripod wrench is specified for aftermarket spin-on cartridge filters and uses a 3/8-inch drive. Identify the installed filter setup first. It should not be described as a wrench for the stock paper-element filter simply because both products appear under engine workshop equipment.

Engine, Steering & Clutch Tools: buying questions

Does the premium clutch tool use a 3/8-inch drive?

The premium tool is described with 20mm and 24mm ends for a 1/2-inch extension. The separate standard 24mm tool uses a 3/8-inch driver, so compare the exact listing rather than treating their drive connections as identical.

Can I infer the fork cap size from the seal driver?

No. The seal driver and cap wrench engage different parts and use different measurements. Inspect the installed fork caps and compare their hex size with the wrench listing before ordering.

What thread does the alternator puller use?

The description specifies 20mm x M1.5, right-hand thread for an internal-thread rotor. Confirm the rotor actually installed and its thread before using the tool, especially where engine or alternator components have been changed.
