My Dad bought this CB750-K1 (pictured) new in 1971. The short story is: This was his ride for most of the 1970's. He decided to give up riding and passed the bike on to me. It became my regular ride for the next 10 years.

I moved on to a Gold Wing GL1100, but knew I should hang onto the CB750. Throughout those first 20 yrs, the bike went through a number of incarnations and modifications, but was kept mostly stock otherwise.

In the early 2000's, I decided I wanted to bring this machine back to it's initial form. I set about obtaining parts like the iconic exhaust system, a replacement seat and many other items such as all the rubber parts that had deteriorated. I spent about 2 years stripping everything down and refinishing all the black structural parts in powder coat. All the Candy Gold body parts were repainted using a correct match paint system. I was able to show the finished project to my Dad before he passed away.

I continued to ride the CB750 intermittently and racked up another 25K miles on it. I am in the process of doing yet another refresh that focuses on most of the mechanicals. The engine's top end had developed a couple oil weeps and I needed to address that. I also purchased new sprockets and a final drive chain. I am taking this opportunity to do brakes; upgrading the ignition to a Dyna unit; replacing the original regulator and rectifier with a modern single unit; and refreshing the carburetors. Cosmetically, it still looks great and I'm anxious to get it back on the road again.
