1983 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk · Front Wheel Bearings & Seals Buying guide
The bearing product and the two-piece seal kit are distinct purchases. Match the bearing identification and wheel application, especially if the motorcycle has a changed wheel or front end.
Each 6302-2RS bearing is sold individually and two are used in the listed front wheel. Confirm the fitted hub and bearing identity before ordering. If the bearings are removed during the repair, follow Honda’s requirement to fit new ones rather than treating removal as a reuse check.
The front wheel seal kit explicitly contains two pieces and is made in Japan by an OEM supplier. It is separate from the bearings. Compare the removed seals and wheel arrangement, then check any other hardware needed for the wheel service.
Honda’s late-CB650SC manual calls for new bearings after removal. Allow for replacement before dismantling the hub, even when the removed bearings appeared usable.
The bearing has its own two synthetic seals, while kit 27-9019 supplies the separate two front-wheel seals. Those are distinct components and orders. Inspect the wheel’s external sealing arrangement independently instead of deleting that service item because the replacement bearing is sealed.
A replacement or custom wheel needs parts matched to its own bearings and seal arrangement. The motorcycle model name alone does not establish compatibility with that wheel.
