1983 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk · Fork Oil & Dust Seals Buying guide
The two seal products share a later-CB650SC application but serve different positions. Match the old seals and inspect the fork tubes before ordering replacements for an aged or changed front end.
The oil seals list the 1983–85 CB650SC and 39 × 52 × 11mm dimensions. A motorcycle fitted with different forks needs the seals for those forks. Compare the removed seal markings and dimensions instead of choosing from the motorcycle year alone.
The dust-seal product explicitly supplies two pieces. Inspect the existing dust seals along with the oil seals and fork surfaces. Use the correct service manual for disassembly, fluid requirements and reassembly rather than inferring procedures from the replacement size.
Honda’s late-CB650SC manual gives different left/right internals and fluid quantities. Follow its side-specific procedure; seal size does not determine the fluid fill.
No. This oil-seal set is 39 × 52 × 11 mm for the listed 1983–85 CB650SC, while the separately listed 1982 CB650SC seal is 37 × 50 × 11 mm. Identify the fitted fork and full seal dimensions; the shared Nighthawk name does not make those sets interchangeable.
The fork tubes, seal seats and other components also need inspection. Have damage or wear assessed before fitting new seals and use the correct service procedure.
