Choose the service tool rather than a similarly grouped part
The tripod wrench applies to the listed aftermarket spin-on filter; the driver applies to compatible 35mm or 36mm forks. Neither product establishes a replacement part’s specification for the motorcycle.
The filter wrench is specified for the aftermarket spin-on filter sold for this application. If the motorcycle retains its original paper-element housing, identify the correct service method instead. The filter wrench is not a replacement for the housing bolt or filter element.
Treat fork work as a separate service
The split carbon-steel driver supports compatible 35mm or 36mm forks, with 35mm specified for the CB650 application. Confirm the fitted front end and required seal parts before starting. Choose the tool for the actual fork and its service procedure.
Buying questions
Which filter must be fitted before this wrench is useful?
The CB650-family application for wrench 35-9022 specifies aftermarket spin-on filter 15-1006. It does not service the original center-bolt housing and paper element. Check the filter actually fitted, including its identity after an unknown conversion, before ordering.
Should I use the wrench to tighten the spin-on filter as firmly as possible?
No. Follow the filter or adapter manufacturer’s installation procedure and do not overtighten. The wrench’s product guidance describes it as mainly useful for controlled removal when the filter cannot be loosened by hand, not as a reason to add extra installation force.
Does a different spin-on filter automatically take the same wrench?
No universal fit is established. Verify the replacement filter and its tool requirements separately; the wrench’s 3/8-inch drive specifies the connection to your wrench equipment, not the dimensions of every filter it can engage.
