Two meter cushions are specified per motorcycle and the cap nuts come as a four-piece set. Genuine Honda speedometer and tachometer back plates have different references and should be matched by housing.

Start with secure instrument supports

The 37235-323-700 meter cushion is sold individually, with one specified for each original meter. The cap-nut pack contains four pieces for the stock speedometer and tachometer mounting. Inspect the mounting studs and supports as well as the rubber; neither item repairs the cable drive or gauge internals.

Choose the correct genuine back plate

The featured tachometer plate references 37246-426-000. The linked genuine speedometer plate has a different application and reference list. Compare the removed plate and housing, particularly where instruments have been exchanged during previous repairs.

Buying questions

Will new cushions repair a gauge that reads incorrectly?

The cushions support the meter in its mount. They do not repair its cable, drive or internal mechanism. Identify a mounting problem separately from a speed or engine-speed reading fault before ordering rubber or decorative covers.

Are the chrome speedometer and tachometer backs interchangeable?

They are separate applications. Speedometer covers reference 37236-426-000, while tachometer covers reference 37246-426-000. Compare the instrument and attachment shape, and choose genuine Honda or aftermarket manufacture from the specific listing rather than from appearance alone.

Can this mounting hardware be used with mini custom gauges?

The verified application is the original-type instrument arrangement. Custom gauges have their own mounting plates and bracket requirements; use their specifications rather than transferring stock mounting hardware automatically.
