1970 Honda CB750K · Wheel Service Tools Buying guide

Choose the front or rear bearing-retainer tool

Both tools accept a 1/2-inch drive, but they engage different bearing retainers. Identify the wheel and retainer location first, particularly when the bike has a replacement hub.

Keep front and rear applications distinct

The rear tool covers the rear hub and sprocket-carrier retainer applications named in its description. The front tool is a separate choice. A matching socket-drive size does not make their working ends interchangeable.

Use the correct service information for the wheel

If the wheel has been changed, identify its hub before using the bike’s model year to choose a retainer tool. Keep the hub’s service instructions available for disassembly and reassembly; no tightening value is implied by the tool size.

Wheel Service Tools: buying questions

Is the rear tool restricted to one rear retainer location?

For the early CB750K, its description lists rear wheel hub and rear sprocket-carrier bearing retainer applications. Identify the particular location on your fitted wheel and compare the stated application before choosing the tool for that service task.

Do both tools use the same driver opening?

Both descriptions state a 1/2-inch socket-bar tool hole. That is a workshop equipment detail rather than confirmation of the retainer application, so still choose the front or rear tool according to the component being serviced.

What should I identify on a replacement wheel?

Record whether the work is on the front hub, rear hub or sprocket carrier, and identify the donor hub if known. Compare that retainer with the corresponding tool application before buying.
