Hello,
My name is John,
Right now I'm working on a 1971 Honda CB750K SOHC. When I received this bike the engine was locked and would not roll over. I've been working on this project for about a year now. This past weekend, I was doing some finishing touches and found out that my electrical system also needed to be repaired. So, I looked around on the Internet and discovered Vintage CB750 who has been there for me when it comes to ordering parts. My plans are to work on the electrical system this weekend to get all the kinks and bugs out.
I also performed an inspection of the major components and found that the engine needed to be rebuilt. So, I installed new Pistons and rings, bored it out without 0.025, had the head reworked, new valves as needed, all-new gaskets and seals, cam chain, rebuilt the carburetor, and assembled all the above.
I had the engine on an engine stand and worked on it on weekends when I had free time. It is really a joy to have the engine back in the frame, and now continue to complete the finishing touches to get it running.
I still have a ways to go, but this is what the weekends are all about. Just the joy of seeing something come back together so awesome! I will keep updating as I progress.
Thanks,
John T
