1984 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk · Caliper Seal & Hardware Kits Buying guide
The two packages describe their contents differently. Identify the front calipers actually fitted and the sealing parts or hardware required before choosing between them.
The deluxe package lists four bolts, six rubber boots, two bleed-screw rubber covers, eight caliper seals, eight O-rings and six washers. Compare that itemized inventory with the parts needed for the repair.
Honda’s US-market CB650SC shop manual calls for examining the caliper pistons and cylinders for scoring, scratches or other damage. Have that condition assessed before deciding the parts order; a seal-and-hardware package does not establish that those surfaces are serviceable.
The dual kit is explicitly described as repairing two front calipers. Confirm the fitted calipers match the listed application before using that coverage to plan the order.
The deluxe kit explicitly excludes pistons, pads, hoses and hydraulic fluid. Its inventory lists rubber bleed-screw covers, not replacement bleed screws. The dual-kit record does not itemize its contents, so confirm that package separately if either hard part is required.
Honda’s US-market CB650SC shop manual requires new piston seals whenever they are removed. It separately calls for replacing hardened or deteriorated piston boots. Use the applicable complete service procedure when planning and carrying out the repair.
