1982 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk Fork Seals & Cap O-Rings
Fork service on the 1982 CB650SC calls for separate checks of the oil seals, dust seals and cap O-rings. Compare the fitted fork before ordering all three. A replacement front end can alter those parts even though the frame still carries the Nighthawk model identity.

The oil seal specification is 37 × 50 × 11mm. The dust seals come as a pair, and the fork-cap O-rings are another two-piece package. Keep those product contents and service locations distinct.
The selected oil and dust seal products explicitly list the 1982 Nighthawk. Use the actual fork identity if the front end has been changed. Do not transfer the smaller dimensions of another CB650 variant or a tool-size assumption to this fork repair.
Keep cap seals separate from the lower sealing parts
The cap O-ring set supplies two pieces for reference 91344-PC9-004. It serves a different location from the oil and dust seals. Inspect each position and use the appropriate service procedure, oil specification and assembly checks for the fork being rebuilt.
Fork Seals & Cap O-Rings questions
Is a fork-cap O-ring change safe to start with the fork springs loaded?
The cap-seal guidance says to support the motorcycle and unload the fork springs before loosening the caps, which can remain spring-loaded. Follow the correct 1982 fork procedure and control the cap as directed; replacing a small O-ring still involves a loaded assembly.
What should be checked if a cap leaks despite a new O-ring?
Check the O-ring groove, cap threads and sealing surfaces rather than assuming the new ring fixes every leak. The product guidance calls for clean grooves, compatible fork-oil lubrication and starting the caps by hand to avoid damaging the sealing and threaded interfaces.
Which reference identifies the cap rings?
The two-piece cap O-ring set replaces 91344-PC9-004. Match the fitted cap and fork application before adding it to the service order.
