1982 Honda CB650 · Sprocket Locking Hardware Buying guide
The lock-plate set provides a defined small-hardware repair for the front sprocket. Examine the plate seating and bolt locations alongside the fitted sprocket before selecting the replacement.
Aftermarket sprockets may require careful comparison at the retaining area. Check the plate shape, seating and bolt locations against the parts removed from the bike. A model application cannot confirm the retention arrangement of an altered sprocket assembly.
The set supplies the lock plate plus two bolts, referenced as 92101-06016-0A. Confirm the matching attachment points rather than adding unrelated general-purpose fasteners. Follow the correct service procedure for the retained sprocket assembly.
Replace a plate that is bent, cracked, worn at the bolt holes or no longer locks securely. Inspect it when replacing the front sprocket and renew damaged retaining hardware as the repair requires.
Compare the sprocket’s retaining arrangement, plate seating and bolt positions first. The CB650 application does not prove compatibility with every modified sprocket.
Confirm sprocket orientation, chain alignment, bolt tightening and the locking method against the Honda procedure before closing the cover and operating the motorcycle.
