2007 Honda CB900F 919 · Stem Hardware Selection Buying guide

Identify the hardware above the top bridge

The chrome stem nut and its separate washer renew the visible top-bridge hardware. Honda lists bearing-adjusting and locking parts separately, so choose these pieces by their actual position in the steering assembly.

The nut and washer are separate purchases

Each offered item is sold individually. The nut's 30 mm hex describes the tool size across its flats. The washer belongs with the top stem nut; it is not a substitute for the bearing lock washer beneath the top bridge.

Retain the correct bearing-adjustment procedure

Honda's steering assembly separates the top nut and washer from the bearing adjuster and locking parts below. Follow the correct service procedure when disturbing the assembly, and check smooth steering without looseness or binding afterward.

Practical questions

Is 30 mm the thread size I should use to match a replacement stem?

No. It is the listed wrench-hex size. For a changed steering stem or top bridge, verify the actual thread and hardware arrangement rather than choosing a nut by wrench size alone.

Does the chrome washer replace the steering-bearing lock washer?

No. The offered washer replaces 90503-283-000 at the top stem nut. Honda lists a separate lock washer for the bearing-adjustment hardware, so identify which position needs repair.

Will a new top nut cure a knock or tight spot in the steering?

Not by itself. Have the bearings, adjustment and retaining hardware checked. Replacing the visible nut is not a diagnosis for steering play or binding.
