2007 Honda CB900F 919 · Front Tank Supports Buying guide

Inspect the tank supports as a complete mounting system

This 2007 919 selection supplies the front tank-holder cushion, reference 17611-425-000. The two front rubbers support the tank against the frame. Inspect the supports and the rear mounting arrangement before assuming new front rubber will resolve every loose-tank symptom.

Keep mounting faults separate from fuel faults

The 919 uses fuel injection. These rubbers support the tank; they do not seal a fuel hose, pump connection or filler cap. A fuel smell or wet connection needs the correct fuel-system inspection before the motorcycle is used, even if the tank also has worn supports.

Plan access before lifting the tank

Honda’s 2007 US/Canada owner’s manual describes a tilt-up maintenance position: the tank stays rest on the frame’s rubber mounts, with lift limited by the stopper cable. Follow that complete procedure rather than pulling the tank upward against the cable, hoses or wiring.

Practical questions

Can I inspect the front mounts without removing the entire tank?

For the standard tank, the 2007 owner’s manual provides a tilt-up maintenance position and says draining is not required for that procedure. Follow the full instructions for the covers, rear pivot and support stays; this is different from completely removing the tank.

Will replacing the front rubbers cure movement at the rear?

Not by itself. The front cushions and rear mounting parts serve separate positions. Inspect where the movement occurs, including the rear bracket and its rubbers, before deciding which parts the repair needs.

What changes if a replacement tank is fitted?

Compare its front mounting interface and rear supports directly. A replacement tank can retain the standard 919 arrangement or use different brackets and cushions. Buy by the actual mounting design rather than the tank’s external shape.
