2004 Honda CB900F 919 · Seat & Tank Rubbers Buying guide

Separate seat cushioning from front tank support

The B seat rubber and front tank-holder cushion are sold individually, but their original-bike quantities differ. Match the mounting position before using a quantity from another part of the motorcycle.

The seat uses more than one rubber shape

Honda's 2004 seat listing uses one B-type rubber, 77205-286-000, alongside three other seat cushions, 77206-GF0-000. The sold-each B rubber replaces its own support; it is not a complete seat-rubber set.

The front pair is only part of the tank mounting

The original 2004 tank uses two front cushions, 17611-425-000. Each offered rubber is one cushion, so order two to renew both front supports. The rear pivot and rear cushion are separate parts. Check the supports and mating surfaces for damage before refitting the tank.

Practical questions

Can the seat and tank rubbers be used interchangeably?

No. Seat rubber B replaces 77205-286-000; the front tank cushion replaces 17611-425-000. They serve different mounting points and are not alternative shapes for the same job.

How many front tank rubbers should I order for a complete front pair?

Two. The offered part is sold each and the original tank uses two at the front. The rear pivot and rear cushion require their own correct parts if worn.

Will replacing the front rubbers cure every loose-tank problem?

No. Inspect the rear supports and the condition of the mounting points too. New cushions will not repair a damaged bracket or compensate for a changed tank's mounting arrangement.
