Choose the grip-end style that suits your 1982 CB900C Custom’s current handlebar setup. Closed-end replicas and open-end replicas with supplied plugs both use black rubber, a 130 mm length and 7/8-inch handlebar fit; inspect the throttle-side arrangement before making the choice.

Choose between a closed rubber end and separate plugs
The principal choice here is the grip end. Both options are OEM-type replicas with the same stated length; compare the handlebar diameter, throttle sleeve and any bar-end fittings before ordering either style.
Both featured options are 130 mm long for 7/8-inch handlebars. Compare that with the fitted controls and throttle sleeve before ordering. A correct-looking tread pattern does not address a length mismatch, so settle the physical fit before choosing the appearance of the ends.
Check what the open-end package adds
The open-end grips include separate end plugs. Compare those with the motorcycle’s current bar-end arrangement, and check the mounting requirements of any accessories you intend to retain. Keep mirror or weight mounting hardware requirements separate from the choice of rubber grip and its supplied plugs.
Grips & End Options questions
Will choosing an open end cure a binding throttle?
It may change outer-end clearance, but binding can also come from the throttle sleeve, housing or cable routing. Both grip styles are 130 mm long. Inspect those parts and verify free throttle return through the steering range after fitting.
Are the supplied end plugs mounting hardware for accessories?
The open-end grip set includes plugs for the grip ends. It does not include a verified mounting system for bar-end mirrors or weights. Select those accessories by their own fittings and check that they cannot obstruct the throttle.
What should I check on the throttle side?
Compare the fitted throttle sleeve, available grip length and end clearance with the replacement. Use the correct service instructions for installation and verify unrestricted throttle operation before the motorcycle returns to service.
