1980 Honda CB900C Custom · Battery Buying guide
The featured ATX14AHL is a sealed, pre-charged AGM battery. Confirm physical fit and cable polarity, then check the motorcycle’s charging and starting circuits so a replacement battery is not masking another fault.
The listed specification is 12 V, 14 Ah and 210 CCA, measuring 5.28 in long × 3.54 in wide × 6.54 in high. Compare those dimensions with the actual tray and covers, especially on a modified motorcycle. Cables must reach the correct terminals without strain or contact with nearby metal.
Do not add acid or water to this supplied-sealed battery. Follow its charging instructions instead of applying the old flooded-battery topping-up procedure. Check the correct fuse rating for the year and circuit, and diagnose a repeated blown fuse rather than fitting a higher-rated one.
Check battery charge, cable and ground connections, and the starter circuit under load. Excessive resistance or a starter fault can remain after the battery is changed.
No. The listed ATX14AHL arrives sealed and pre-charged. Keep it sealed and use the battery maker’s AGM charging procedure if charging is needed.
The separately listed lithium regulator specifically excludes lead-acid and AGM batteries. Choose charging equipment compatible with the installed battery chemistry and verify the motorcycle’s charging output.
